The Business activity refers to the economic activity provided by the company. This whether directly or indirectly can be related to making the products and services available to the customer and also ensure enterprise’s profit earning. All the business activities may (or must) depend on each other to ensure a constant and good service and cannot serve the purpose of customer satisfaction solely.
The business activity does not necessarily belong to the company activity. Indeed, each company has to run many kinds of different activities to be able to provide its own products or services. For example in every enterprise we’ll be able to find at least some departments like these: Finance, Marketing, HR, sales, etc. Even if the process we must investigate does not belong to the main activity it can have a lot of impact on it. So, at this stage it’s necessary to identify the business domain(s).
We can see at least these differents activities in all companies:
- Sales: The sales team is the lifeblood of every business. …
- Marketing: Marketing and advertising help in developing the brand and boosting the exposure of the business into the market.
- Finance
- Accounting
- Customer Service
- Human Resources (HR)
Of course depending the the company business we may be able to find out other kind of activities like:
- Industry:
- Exploitation
- Manufacturing
- Agricultural
- Commercial
- Wholesaler
- Retail
- Broker
- Healthcare and Pharmaceutical
- Finance
- Insurance
- Real Estate
- Transportation
- Telecommunication
- Media/editorial
- Governmental
- Legal
- Energy
- Services
The business list is clearly big and the activities which belong to each activity can also be huge.
